Course overview
The ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer training prepares professionals to establish, implement, manage, monitor and continually improve an Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS).
Based on ISO/IEC 42001:2023, this live online, instructor-led program combines standard requirements, practical examples, exercises and exam-aligned learning to help participants translate AI governance requirements into effective organizational processes.
The five-day program consists of four training days followed by the PECB certification exam on Day 5. Participants who complete the training receive an attestation of course completion worth 31 CPD credits.

Curriculum
Day 1 — AIMS Foundations and Initiation
Introduction to AI management systems, ISO/IEC 42001 requirements, organizational context and the scope of an AIMS.
Day 2 — AIMS Planning
Leadership, objectives, resources, gap analysis, AI risk assessment, risk treatment and implementation planning.
Day 3 — AIMS Implementation
Implementing controls, operational processes, documentation, communication, awareness and change management.
Day 4 — Monitoring and Improvement
Performance evaluation, internal audits, management reviews, corrective actions, continual improvement and certification audit preparation.
Day 5 — PECB Certification Examination
Take the PECB ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer certification exam.

Exam and Certification
The program follows the PECB ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer certification pathway. The examination takes place on Day 5 and consists of 80 questions, with a three-hour duration and a 70% passing score.
Completing the training provides an attestation of course completion. The PECB credential is awarded separately after candidates pass the examination and satisfy the applicable certification requirements. One free exam retake is available within 12 months for eligible trained candidates who do not pass.
